Screening Camps

1) Ghatkopar Camp-

We have done Breast, Cervical & Oral Cancer screening camp in association with the Indian Cancer Society on December, 19th 2021 at Ghatkopar.  The camp was for the weaker section of the society. Total 83 male and female visited the camp. The patients will be assisted by LWF for the further test and treatment at TMH.

2) Vikhroli East Camp:-

On November 13th 2022 we organised a Breast, Cervical & Oral Cancer awareness & screening camp in association with the Indian Cancer Society. Held for the weaker section and underprivileged people of Tagore Nagar, Vikhroli East. It was a free camp. 73 people visited the camp— 40 females and 33 males. Found 11 suspected cases Oral cancer 8 and Cervical cancer 3. The patients will be assisted by LWF for the further test and treatment at TMH. 

3) Govandi West Camp:- 

We held a screening camp with Indian Cancer Society on Breast, Cervical & Oral Cancer on January 14th 2023 at Deonar Colony, Govandi West. It was a free screening and detection camp for the people from the weaker section of the society. Total footfall were 70. Six suspects were found and after continuous follow ups and reminders, four suspects reached TMH and were assisted with further investigation like basic cancer screening tests and biopsy test. All suspects have no malignancy but two have been advised surgery to avoid any chance in future too.

4) Goregaon West Camp- 

On February 19th 2023 we partnered with Vacchalabai Apang Seva Sanstha and Indian Cancer Society to organise a free screening and detection camp on Breast, Cervical and Oral Cancer for weaker section and underprivileged people of the society. Total footfall were 63 Male-42 and Female- 21. Four suspects were found and they were assisted for further investigation at Tata Memorial Hospital.

5) Kanjurmarg, Powai

On April 1st 2023, we organised a Breast, Cervical & Oral Cancer screening camp in association with the Indian Cancer Society at Kanjurmarg, Powai. It was a free screening and detection camp for the weaker section & underprivileged people of the society. Total footfall were 66. Five suspects were found during the camp.

6) Bandra East Camp 

On 19th May 2018, we organised a Breast, Cervical & Oral Cancer awareness & screening camp in association with the Indian Cancer Society & Yuva Foundation. Held for the underprivileged women residing in the Bharat Nagar, Jawahar Nagar & Kherwadi localities of Bandra East, the camp was a huge success. With over 50 women from the underprivileged section of the society attending the camp was spearheaded by our Founders – Shomali Johri and Manju Mulchandani. The team from the Indian Cancer Society conducted tests under the supervision of Dr. Arohi Tasgaonkar & ENT Specialist Dr. Pradeep Sud. A few cases were referred to Tata Memorial Hospital for further investigation. Due follow up was performed by teams at LWF & Indian Cancer Society. The initiative was also covered by two local Marathi Newspapers – Pudhari & Tarun Bharat.

7) Kalamboli ( Navi Mumbai )  camp  –

We held a camp on Breast, Cervical & Oral Cancer Awareness on 14 March 2019 at Kalamboli Navi Mumbai. Residents belonging to the weaker socio-economic strata, working in factories, transport & other domestic jobs attended the camp. Around 100 women were screened who had pre-registered with us. Mammography was done for 30 women who were in the 45+ age group or had any family history of breast cancer. The camp provided the women in need an opportunity to get screened for cancer.

8) Malad West Camp

On 29th November 2019, we partnered with Safal Vikas Foundation & Indian Cancer society to spread awareness about cancer and to make healthcare more accessible to the weaker sections of the society. We organised a free cancer awareness and screening camp in Malvani, Malad West. More than 70 women were examined for oral cancer & comprehensive gynaecological examinations including Pap smear for cervical cancer and clinical breast examinations for breast cancer were held. Around 30 men were also screened for oral cancer & basic body checkup was done. The camp was supported by alumni from Cranfield University.

9) Chandivali –

On 5th March 2020, we partnered with Indian Cancer Society to organise a free cancer awareness & screening camp, aimed to create awareness on prevention of cancer and make healthcare accessible to weaker sections of the society. Around 100 Men and women were examined for oral cancer. Comprehensive gynaecological examination along with pap smear for cervical cancer and clinical breast examination for breast cancer for women was also done.
